DC Adventures Day 39 (3.21.13)

Uneventful day.

Started out by getting up early so I could have more time to stand in lines (ugh). Decided to go into the staff + visitors' entrance because the line was half the length of the staff line I stood in yesterday.

Bad call.

Stood in line for 20 minutes this time. And it was cold.

Finally got through to the Capitol building, and there were people all over the senate side for tours. I decided to wait for a group to walk through the doors into the Capitol, instead of cutting through. Because MY mother raised me right. The jerk intern holding the door for his group LETS GO OF THE DOOR as soon as the last person in his group made it through. Problem was, I was RIGHT behind her in their makeshift line. So now there's a door coming at my face. I had my head phones on, and instead of muttering like I generally do, all but yelled, "WOW!" at the door. And he heard me. Trying to save face, he hops back, grabs the door right as I'm catching it, and says, "Oh, sorry about that!" I just looked at him and said, "...yeah..." and walked past him, shaking my head. Really??

Then I sat at my desk all day. Nothing too exciting happened. Leslie did send out a really awesome email thanking everyone that had helped at the party last night, including the "top notch bartenders". :) That was really sweet. La and one of the Chief of Staffs replied, adding their thanks as well. So that was cool.

We technically got to leave at 5p, because Mr. Hall headed back to Rockwall this afternoon, but I stayed until about 5:45p finishing up my labeling project for the day.

When I got back to TMH, I got a text from Gabby about dinner, took a quick power nap, then went down stairs and ate with her. It was the first time I've really even seen her in over a week. It was nice to catch up and have some girl time. She got accepted into Columbia's journalism project - YAY! Her last day at TMH is the 31st also, so I'm prolly gonna help her move out next weekend.

After dinner I came upstairs and watched a lot of Hulu. It was nice to have no obligations for the first time in almost 2 weeks. I loved having my family and B here, but just doing NOTHING was really nice. I already feel more rested.

Fingers crossed it stays this way! Tomorrow is the first day we'll be out of session in 4 weeks - and I can't wait. Shouldn't be any lines to speak of. Of course, now that I say that, they will be the longest DC has ever seen. :)

*Until Next Time!*
